Holy Cow: More than just Steaks

Posted on: 09/08/2009

In a Midwest Ranch themed restaurant, seafood is the furthest thing from my mind. But as I love anything with cheese on it, I decided to order the Baked Oyster Rockefeller in Holy Cow. I know that oysters, for most people, are an acquired taste. For me, it’s not something I would crave for but I realized it’s been such a long time since I’ve had baked oysters because there aren’t many restaurants offer such dish.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it was one of the best oyster dishes I’ve had! It was the highlight of our meal and even my friends who didn’t like oysters absolutely loved it. To complement the typical oyster texture, the generous cheese topping gave a bite and a bit of crunch for every serving. The cheesiness will definitely make you grab for more! If not for the empty shells left on my plate, I wouldn’t know I actually ate a lot of it! Definitely deserves another visit when we get a chance to eat there again. =)

If you’re not a fan of oysters this is a great way to be acquainted with it as the usual slippery feel is not noticeable in this dish. If you love oysters, this is a great dish to enjoy it. You can also try Holy Cow’s other offerings, a variety of reasonably priced steaks, soups and pastas. Their flavor offerings are quite different from traditional dishes, they have their own twists on classic flavors like the Apple Pumpkin soup and the White Grape Tea. And don’t forget to order one of their a la mode desserts!

You can visit Holy Cow at SM North Edsa (The Annex), Megamall (Atrium), Mall of Asia and Robinsons Manila (Midtown).
