Breakfast at home in Eastwood Mall
When a friend asked me where a good place is for breakfast, I was stumped. Aside from the usual fastfood drive thru and hotel buffets, I rarely go out for breakfast. So I figured my next foodie mission is to find a great breakfast place worth waking up early for. Upon asking around, some coworkers recommended Cafeccino.
With such a name and a coffee cup at the exterior, I expected Cafeccino to be a typical coffee shop. I was surprised to find that it’s a full service casual dining restaurant with not only good breakfast and coffee, but a complete menu from appetizers, pizza, mains and dessert!
Inside, Cafeccino feels like a restaurant of contemporary elegance. Its high ceiling boasts of an intricate chandelier and a collection of mirrors with delicate metal frames. I couldn’t help but glance up every few minutes to admire them- and my reflection. The restaurant is owned and managed by the Dome team, but Cafeccino is a younger and more accessible version. Still, it offers Dome best sellers, plus a wide range of new offerings. All menu items are familiar, they are dishes that people have grown up with and regularly crave. They are comfort food with a Cafeccino interpretation.

Iced Cappuccino with Coffee Jelly
I start every morning with coffee, and the iced cappuccino with coffee jelly is one of the best ways to take coffee. The firm coffee jelly cubes go well with the mild and creamy cappuccino. However, the best part of the drink is the surprise inside the whipped cream topping- a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Beef Tapa P295.00
Having gotten off a good start, I decided to order a childhood favorite- beef tapa. I rarely eat beef tapa in restaurants since most don’t compare to how my mom makes it. Fortunately, Cafeccino’s version hits a home run! The beef tapa is absolutely delish- the right sweetness, very tender and very lean. I could taste and smell a hint of the garlic that it was cooked in, completing the whole experience. What brings the dish over the edge is the garlic rice that tastes like it had some secret herb and ingredients added to it. When I asked the chef though, she claimed that it is just regular garlic rice, but cooked with a lot of love. Whatever is in it, it definitely reminded me of the experience of falling in love- with a breakfast meal!

Dome Breakfast P260.00
Intrigued by the name, I also ordered the Dome Breakfast. It turned out to be two hefty pieces of Italian Garlic Sausage that looks like a mural at Dome restaurant. This signature dish is also very yummy, the sausage is just the right mouth feel, the right chewiness and subtle spices. It would have been perfect if it was spicier, but then I’m just a fan of spicy food.

Blueberry Cheesecake Personal P240.00
As a big fan of cheesecakes, I had to order the blueberry cheesecake for dessert. After a heavy breakfast, I was surprised to see that I have almost finished the cake! The cheesecake is lighter than the usual commercially available ones, with the cake feeling creamy and whipped. The crust is also quite thin and more crumbly than average- just the way I like it.

Cafeccino, located in a quiet corner of Eastwood Mall, offers the comfortable vibe and familiar flavors of home. It is a perfect meeting place for breakfast meetings, hanging out with girlfriends after dropping off the kids at school, or Sunday brunch with the family after church. As for me, I’m already planning my next visit- dinner at Cafeccino!
